Photo References

Some links to sites I have been referring to quite often lately. I thought this would be a good place to put them so I can keep the links all together. Hopefully, someone else may find them useful as well.

Diana F+ Exposure Chart

Here is a Diana F+ exposure chart I found here.

Project View

This is a cool site I found (varial artworks) where the photographer took the same shot from his window using different cameras, lenses, and films. Its a cool way to see what combinations will create certain effects or looks.

This is an Xpro film guide I found on the flickr.

I can't find the longer list i had found previously. I'll post it when I find it again.

Randomness (Photos)

Today I did some test shots on a couple of rolls of slide film (Fujichrome Provia 400X and Kodak Ektachrome E100 VS). The two rolls will be sent off to some lab in Atlanta to be cross processed. I am anxious to see how they turn out so I can figure out what kinds of film I want to take with me to Europe. It's all one big experiment.

Here are some random photos from various rolls I shot over the past several months.

I was going to post Futuristic Casket by Phantogram, but the YouTube vids are crap. All two of them. So, here is Running from the Cops instead.

The Exciting World of Commercial Flight (In Black and White)

I am finally getting to post some photos I took with my Diana (my XMas gift from Jeff and Mori). I shot a roll of color and a roll of B & W while I was in Texas (and returning). I am quite pleased with the photos. Almost all of the exposures on both rolls turned out. I also found that I can't cheat the scanning process and get very good results. I have been cutting the film and placing the strips in a sketchbook to flatten them out. The scanning process is way easier. Here are some photos from the black and white roll.

I was going to post a different video, but the style of Pulling Our Weight goes with the photo set. Plus, I have been feeling like a mopey cloud today.

Where the Wild Things Are

Finally, I got to see Where the Wild Things Are (in IMAX no less). I enjoyed it quite a bit. Maybe not as much as I'd hoped though. I guess I was kind of expecting to be engrossed in some misadventure. Not just watching them hang out in the woods most of the time. But I thought the story was well done. Especially the parallels between Max/his mum and Carol/Max.

I also received two rolls of expired 120mm film I bought on eBay in the mail. I am curious to see if there is any difference in the photos. The film expired about a year and a half ago. I don't know if the age of the film has any impact. I guess I'll have to find out.

Lomo Photos

I finally got my film developed. Some photos didn't come out (I need to figure out how much light there needs to be). I bought some B & W film and some 400 speed. Oh, and some of the photos just looked like normal photos, so I didn't post them. I had several with light streaks in the same places. Maybe I didn't tape the camera up well enough. I did use blue masking tape and not black electrical tape, so I might try changing that too. I can't wait to go out and take some more photos.

LomoPhobe

My Lomo Holga 120N came in the mail today. I haven't the slightest clue of how to use it. But I'll learn the same way I learn everything else, by doing. The plan is to hit up Colonial Photo & Hobby for a few rolls of film this weekend. Of course, I'll put my results up here (good or bad).
