Costume Shop

I needed to finish off the last few frames on the last roll of film from New York.

I also saw the Fantastic Mr. Fox again tonight. I saw it last week too.

Apple juice. Apple juice flood.

Subway Photos

Here are a few photos I took in the subway station in NY. I just played around with the bulb setting and held the shutter open for unknown amounts of time.

Flight Deck of the USS Intrepid

I am finally getting around to posting the rest of my B & W photos from the Intrepid museum (yes, it's 2:30 in the is am). But I am kind of hyper/restless. There are a few more color photos from the last roll I shot. I'll get them scanned and uploaded soon. I have really been enjoying shooting film, and I am looking at getting a Diana for XMas.

New York Photos (part tres)

How does it get so late in the day? At least I made some time to paint tonight. These are a few black and white photos from New York. The aircraft photos are from the Intrepid Museum. The shear size of the aircraft carrier was amazing, and I don't think its that large compared to modern ships. The SR-71 Blackbird was the most exciting plane for me. Even though I'd seen a couple out in California, I was still giddy when I saw it sitting up there. I am in love with the shape of it.

New York Photos (part dos)

Here is a second helping of photos from my trip to NYC a couple of weekends ago. This past week and a half have been such a blur. An extremely fun blur. I am still screwing with this new scanner (it's a Canon 8800F that will not work with my MacBook Pro. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love some help). I have been having issues with scanning monochromatic film. Even scanning it as color gives me a range of results. I keep getting horizontal scratches in the scans, but I don't see any in the film. Maybe I'll take a roll to Colonial Photo and Hobby and have them scan it. Just to see if it's the film or the scanner or the user. I am hoping to get better results from the film I shot at St. Patrick's Cathedral, but I may just post them with the flaws. There are more photos to come...

Drawing Class

Damn, its been a while since I've gone to drawing class. I am glad I went, it kind of got me into a creative mood. I am actually going to paint for the first time in months. More pics to follow.

I used toooo much Icy Hot

My back is kind of tight and crampy. Probably from sitting in front of a computer all day. I found the deodorant stick of Icy Hot in my gym bag that got melted sitting out in my car. It was melted to the side and way past the top edge of the plastic applicator thing. Anyway, I threw caution to the wind and put some on. Too much on in fact.

On a completely unrelated note, Pandora made me sick of hearing the Arctic Monkeys. But Jeff and I threw together a playlist this weekend, and I heard one of their songs that I really like.

Lots of Things Going On (+ more photos)

I have finally had some time to work on things now that Halloween has come and gone. I need to get some photos up from last weekend. It was quite an amazing event. Time to get painting again. I also need to start designing. I spoke to Matt from fearpassage about doing some logo and website design. I am really excited to start doing some fun/creative work again. I am looking forward to creating visuals to go with their music.

Here are some photos from random rolls of film I haven't gotten around to posting. The scanner at the lab put some line down a few of the frames. I didn't feel like messing with it. I'll just have to rescan them.

I love this song (the whole "Oh, Inverted World" cd is great really)

Ghosts

Somehow, October has been full of memories and old acquaintances. Maybe it's fitting that I moved to Orlando ten years ago. I got some stuff back from Ana, and its been fun going back through my things I had forgotten about. Inside my old backpack was my Moonraker costume I made ten years ago, at this time of year.

This song came on while I was listening to Radio Dept. tonight. I like the video, well except for George Clooney.

Where the Wild Things Are

Finally, I got to see Where the Wild Things Are (in IMAX no less). I enjoyed it quite a bit. Maybe not as much as I'd hoped though. I guess I was kind of expecting to be engrossed in some misadventure. Not just watching them hang out in the woods most of the time. But I thought the story was well done. Especially the parallels between Max/his mum and Carol/Max.

I also received two rolls of expired 120mm film I bought on eBay in the mail. I am curious to see if there is any difference in the photos. The film expired about a year and a half ago. I don't know if the age of the film has any impact. I guess I'll have to find out.

Tokyo!

I got to watch part 3 of Tokyo! last night. I really enjoyed the first and third segment. The second one was good, but a bit out there. I thought Michel Gondry's film was the best, but I that's not surprising. My favorite scene was in the last movie when the Hikikomori walks through the intersection by the Hachiko station in Shibuya and its completely deserted. It's fun seeing the places that I got to visit.

No Show

I finally made it back to drawing, but I can't say the same for the model. I got there, and people from class were just volunteering to pose. But it was kind of cool drawing different people in the same session.
