I gave the new character similar arms to SoundBoy. I am still adjusting them, but I think they work just as well.

Logo Idea

Over two years ago, I was toying with some ideas for an Animatronyx logo. After finally getting the site up, I decided I needed some new art to go with it. I threw up the render of SoundBoy that I made for Mathis. But I felt I needed something more inline with what I was doing. I really liked the Soundboy concept and I got a lot of good feedback about it. So, it's time to push it even further. Here is What I came up with today.

Friday my manager stopped by and told me that he needed to see me in his boss' office. I was a little nervous because I had no clue what it was all about. I arrived to find my supervisor and functional manager there as well. However, it was good news. I received an out of cycle salary increase! It couldn't have been better timing. I have been starting to stress on this project I am working. The increased morale will certainly help.

The Fall

Tonight was such a sureal surprise. I heard that a friend was in from out of town unexpectedly. We went to Little Saigon. Then, having nothing to do watched the trailer for The Fall. We had 5 minutes to get to the theater before it started. I had never heard of it until this evening. But it was really stunning.

Finally, I have a bit of structure to my site. Not that there is much in the way of content yet. But you have to start somewhere right? Take a look:

Maybe I got something done...

It doesn't really feel like it. I thought I'd get to spend the day working on my website and drawings. I did get to drawing class this morning. I also got to play Rock Band with Pricer and Mori. It's crazy how soon they're leaving. But I had soooo much fun, and the website will be there tomorrow.

I bought my plane ticket to Chicago today. And now I am discussing going to Puerto Rico with Mori, Jeff, and Pricer. I can't wait!

Control

Last night I saw Control at the Enzian. It was the story of the rise and fall of Ian Curtis, the lead singer of Joy Division. The film was great. But I am probably biased. I was excited that it was directed Anton Corbijn (who has directed more great videos than I can name). The movie was a good portrayal of the events that led to Ian Curtis' suicide. He was married at an extremely young age. I hadn't realized that the movie covered only a span of less than ten years. It was interesting that even when he got what he desired, he still could not be happy. He had a wife and daughter, but longed for another woman. Joy Division became increasingly popular, and he couldn't handle it. That part of human nature scares me.

Summer Travel

My sister and her family are traveling to Chicago in a month or so. I thought it would be a great opportunity to visit them and my brother all at the same time. My brother said he'll take me to Six Flags. I can't wait. I just talked to Mori before and she said she might be going to Puerto Rico this summer. That sounds like another tempting trip. I better work some overtime if I really want to go. I went to figure drawing for a bit this morning. I need to get myself there regularly. I finally had started feeling pretty confident about drawing when I stopped going. It would be great to get back to that point.

I also started at creating my website. Its just been sitting. So, the plan is to at least get the structure up and working. I can always pretty it up later on.
