Ghosts

Somehow, October has been full of memories and old acquaintances. Maybe it's fitting that I moved to Orlando ten years ago. I got some stuff back from Ana, and its been fun going back through my things I had forgotten about. Inside my old backpack was my Moonraker costume I made ten years ago, at this time of year.

This song came on while I was listening to Radio Dept. tonight. I like the video, well except for George Clooney.

Where the Wild Things Are

Finally, I got to see Where the Wild Things Are (in IMAX no less). I enjoyed it quite a bit. Maybe not as much as I'd hoped though. I guess I was kind of expecting to be engrossed in some misadventure. Not just watching them hang out in the woods most of the time. But I thought the story was well done. Especially the parallels between Max/his mum and Carol/Max.

I also received two rolls of expired 120mm film I bought on eBay in the mail. I am curious to see if there is any difference in the photos. The film expired about a year and a half ago. I don't know if the age of the film has any impact. I guess I'll have to find out.

Tokyo!

I got to watch part 3 of Tokyo! last night. I really enjoyed the first and third segment. The second one was good, but a bit out there. I thought Michel Gondry's film was the best, but I that's not surprising. My favorite scene was in the last movie when the Hikikomori walks through the intersection by the Hachiko station in Shibuya and its completely deserted. It's fun seeing the places that I got to visit.

No Show

I finally made it back to drawing, but I can't say the same for the model. I got there, and people from class were just volunteering to pose. But it was kind of cool drawing different people in the same session.

Atomic Bomb Dome Photos

Here are a few more photos from Japan I never got around to posting. This is the Atomic Bomb Dome which is the skeleton of the building the first Atomic bomb detonated over.

Yippie Kay Yay Mother Falcon!

I got so much done on my off Friday. We decided we're going sailing tomorrow in St. Pete and I was worried I wouldn't get everything done this weekend. But I managed to get to most of it today. I finally got to check out Mother Falcon Clothing (MFC) in Thorton Park. Check it out if you're interested in getting a t-shirt printed. The owners are really cool peeps. Then I stopped in Colonial Photo & Hobby to pick up a couple of rolls of colored film and couple of B&W. My flash finally arrived today too! So, I will take my camera, maybe tomorrow night and shoot some photos. I wish I'd had it the night of the zombie party at Redlight Redlight. Then I made it to the gym for a swim. I weighed in at 194 lbs. I have lost about 16 lbs since I moved. I am trying to keep exercising to keep the trend going. I better get some sleep for tomorrow's sailing adventure. I will take some film with me to document it.

Still Here

I haven't updated in three weeks! I was recently telling someone how it's not very hard to find time to update my blog. Maybe I should rethink that. Well, and there hasn't been a whole lot going on. I ordered the ringflash for my Holga. It should arrive on Friday. So, I am planning on shooting some photos sometime this weekend. I want to try out the flash before the Halloween party. I am a bit worried that it might be an expensive P.O.S. I only found one real review of the ringflash, and it wasn't very positive. I did finally make it to the fabric store and got the material for my costume. I am a bit nervous because in the past I've made my costumes from clothing articles I bought. So, it will be new for me to have to cut the cloth panels and sew it up. I may have to enlist some help.

I've had this song stuck in my head since I heard it the other day. Not so keen on the video though.

Mistaken For Strangers (The National)

"oh you wouldn't want an angel watching over
surprise, surprise they wouldn't wannna watch
another uninnocent, elegant fall into the unmagnificent lives of adults"

I saw this Au Revoir Simone video the other day too.
